Notations is the three-dimensional evolution of an ongoing research about the transcription of sounds in a visual format. The aim is not a literal translation of a media in another but the process of feeling and reporting music through personal and improved signs.

The work was developed at the art residency Countdown Grabowsee: it was the perfect occasion for doing that as from my temporary studio I could constantly receive so many inputs from the other residents. Surrounded by music, I started drawing using my mind and body as an unusual seismograph, composing lines that followed notes.

A second step was to transfer that lines to a metal plate and so cutting out the shapes that were finally assembled into a three- dimensional structure.
